SlimCleaner Plus™ Software Now Includes Privacy Tools for Windows® 10 Operating System

Slimware Utilities’ PC Cleaning Solution Lets Users Customize Windows® 10 Privacy Settings; New Privacy Tools Available for Free During Special Introductory Time

New York, November 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ – SlimCleaner Plus™, the all-in-one solution for PC optimization, now provides privacy control tools for Windows® 10 users. SlimCleaner Plus lets users customize their operating system’s privacy settings to disable, or limit, features in Windows® 10 that collect and report data to Microsoft. With this feature, SlimCleaner Plus becomes one of the first full-service PC utility software packages to offer easy-to-use, specialized support for Windows® 10 privacy controls.

Windows® 10 offers tremendous personalization, but in order to do that, the operating system must collect data about Web browsing, searches, contacts, location, appointments, typed content and even password-protected Wi-Fi networks.” said Bob Bryant, chief technology officer at Slimware Utilities. “Some consumers may prefer a higher level of privacy, and for them, we’re providing the tools to control how their personal data is shared.”

SlimCleaner Plus is a PC cleaning, optimizing and maintenance product from Slimware Utilities, acquired by Mindspark, an operating business of IAC, last year. The downloadable software scans and analyzes an entire PC system, identifies the potential factors negatively affecting PC performance and security, and with its premium features fixes issues with a single click.

With the new Privacy tab on the SlimCleaner Plus main page, users can select options that allow them to customize their privacy settings and limit the amount of data that’s collected and shared.

With SlimCleaner Plus, users can easily:

  • Disable settings that collect information for targeted advertising and location services, as well as information about typed and written words.
  • Limit feedback and diagnostics settings that collect usage data from a device, including system files or memory snapshots, which may unintentionally include parts of a document a user was working on when a problem occurred.
  • Deactivate the Wi-Fi Sense feature, which automatically connects users to open Wi-Fi networks and can share password-protected Wi-Fi networks with users’ contacts to give them Internet access on those networks.
  • Stop the “Getting to Know You” feature, which allows Microsoft to collect speech, inking, and typing information, including contacts, calendar information, and typed and handwritten words, when users interact with Windows by speaking, writing (handwriting), or typing. This also prevents activation of Cortana®, Microsoft’s digital assistant, which gathers information such as device location and location history, contacts, voice input, searching history, calendar details, content and communication history from messages and apps, and other information, to deliver personalized messages.

SlimCleaner Plus™ is available for $29.97 for a one-year license at The SlimCleaner Plus™ privacy tools are now available for free during a special introductory time.
