Can't open the program on Win 8.1

    Hi,
Install the program without problem, but when I start it I get this message :
"Windows can not access the device, the path or file specified.
You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

Someone sees a possible reason for this?
For info, I had already created a RefreshImage via the Dos command.
    Thanks

It sounds like an access violation is being presented by Windows whenever the program tries to initialize settings and set image paths. Tell me more about your computer and the work environment it is set up in (if applicable). Are you a member of a domain? Are you a limited/standard user?

    Hi Ryan,
It's a home computer HP with Win 8.1 update 2, not at work thus.
    I'm a particular and i'm not a member of a domain.
    Thanks.

From your description, it sounds like a problem with permissions. Please refer to this Microsoft support document for checking application permissions.

    Thanks for the link Ryan.
I tried the 6 methods and the compatibility mode... in vain.

I had an inspiration ... and the solution is :
We are not involved in actually downloading and installing the software.
Now, it is automatically installed (under win 64x 8.1) in "c:\ Program Files (x86)\RecImg Manager", but in the registry there are entries for the program with the value "c:\ Program Files\RecImg Manager" too !!
I thus changed all the faultive entries and there is no problem to open the program anymore.
    Best regards.

We've been unable to reproduce the behavior you are describing. I still believe this is a problem with permissions but its hard to say where the hang up is occurring. I'd like to set up a remote support session so that we may attempt to diagnose the precise cause of this issue. Please let me know if this is agreeable to you and we will schedule a date.

It's OK for me. TeamViewer is installed on my PC and tomorrow I am available until 14h (Brussels Time) if appropriate .
