    Restore Failed

I have a Lenovo Helix Windows 8 machine which has a recovery partition built into it. Unfortunately, the partition is Windows 8 not 8.1. I would like to create a custom image with 8.1 that I could restore back to instead of going all the way back to 8. After some research, I found that there was a way to create a custom recovery image using recimg.

Through the command system, I was able to do so, however, when I tried use Advanced Startup/Troubleshoot/Advanced Options/System Image Recovery, the "Re-image Your Computer" system could not find any images on my drive even though they were there.

I then found your software which is so much simpler to use but unfortunately, I still can't get Restore to work. I have successfully created images on a network drive. Then when I try to Restore them, it completes the copy from the network drive then it reports back with "There was a problem refreshing your PC" No changes were made error. I then copied the image from the network drive over to C and tried to restore from it. Unfortunately, I get the same error.

I would really like to get this software working. Thanks for the help in advance.

That message comes from Windows, not our software. RecImg Manager is built upon native Windows 8 technology. If Windows is refusing to restore that image, then there may be another problem with the computer. What is the make and model of your computer? There have been issues in the past where the hard drive firmware was not UEFI compatible and refreshing would not work.

Thanks! Sorry I missed that previously. Try creating a new local user account in the control panel. Log into the new user and attempt to restore the image from the new user account.

Thanks. I found that once I upgraded the machine to windows 8.1 everything seemed to work.
